Modern Domestic is a BERNINA Excellence Dealership, open sewing studio and classroom space offering two spacious fully equipped classrooms. We offer sewing classes for all skill levels, whether you’ve never touched a machine before or you’re continuing your mastery of the craft. Our classes cover (but are not limited to): beginning sewing, sewing for kids and teens, intermediate and advanced sewing. The schedule changes all the time, so be sure to take a look at the latest offerings.
MD carries the full line BERNINA sewing machines and sergers. We repair and maintain ALL BRANDS of sewing machines, sergers and embroidery modules. We have a knowledgeable staff of sewists who can help find the right machine for you. We offer sewing machine service and sell machine accessories and sewing tools and equipment, thread, and select notions.
Located just blocks from Bolt, Close Knit, and Collage, we are in the heart of Northeast Portland’s thriving DIY community. Join us in our well equipped studio and work on your own project at your own pace on our sewing machines for only $8/hour. We also offer a 10 hour punch card for $50 (includes additional 2 friend punches). Classrooms can be reserved for craft and sewing groups.
