This is the perfect class to learn about your new (or old and under-used) serger! We will cover basic threading and maintenance, as well as tips and tricks to make your serging look super professional and help you feel confident. This is a fun and dynamic class which is sure to unlock a whole new world of sewing skills. If you have purchased a serger from Modern Domestic, call to sign up, as this class is FREE! If you are bringing your own, or would like to learn on a store serger, give us your serger make and model # when you sign up!

Supply List for Serger Basics Vol. 1
- Your serger, foot pedal and power cord (or use one of ours, just let us know!)
- Your manual
- If using your own serger, be sure to have a package of new needles–Universal size 90/14 or 80/12. Check your manual to be sure you buy the correct style of needle. Examples are ELx705 and 15x1SP.* If you are using our serger, these are not necessary.
- 4 colors of high quality polyester thread*, preferably one spool each of red, blue, green, and yellow (or the colors that match the dials of your machine)
- Scrap fabric, approx 20”x20” piece of each of the following: medium weight wovens, medium to thick knit fabrics.
