We offer 3 ways for you to signup for classes. You can register online, call us at (503) 808-9910, or come visit the store. Classes are limited to 6 students, and many fill up fast.

If you have a specific project in mind or you learn best in a one-on-one atmosphere, we offer private lessons. Just give us a call and we will schedule your lesson with the teacher best suited to fit your sewing needs.

You do not need to own a sewing machine to learn to sew at Modern Domestic. MD provides fabulous instructors, a spacious, well-lit environment, and the finest machines and equipment for learning. We believe that having access to high quality tools and accessories will give you the confidence you need to excel in your sewing pursuits. When you come to class, simply bring the supplies listed for your particular class and we provide the rest. We want you to come to MD ready to relax, have fun and sew!

You are welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you prefer. Be sure to bring along your cord, foot pedal, accessories and manual (if your are not familiar with your machine). Class time is dedicated to the project at hand, not individual machine issues. If you would like to learn the specific ins and outs of your machine, we would be happy to schedule a private lesson for you.

Your class fee includes use of the studio and machines at no additional charge. Some classes may require homework. Also included in your class fee is studio time to do your homework and if you don’t finish your project, you have 30 days after your class ends to complete your project at at MD. This is to encourage you to complete your project and is not intended to be used for other projects.
