The MD Sewing Machine / Serger Full Service includes:

  • All external covers are removed
  • Hook areas dismantled and excess thread and lint are removed from machine
  • Hook and timing pulleys are removed and cleaned
  • Machine parts, hook and joints are cleaned
  • Hook is inspected for burrs
  • Joints and hook area are oiled
  • Thorough inspection of each part for burrs and needle damage
  • Inspection of light unit
  • Inspection for binds
  • Inspection and correction of proper needle positions
  • Upper and lower tension adjusted
  • Thorough test sew, including straight stitch, zigzag, left/right needle position, width and length control movement, reverse control function, construction and decorative stitch function, multi-motion (stretch stitch) function, and buttonhole, if applicable
  • Foot control testing
  • Cover, machine, power cords and carrying cases are cleaned

Remember to bring along:

  • Machine
  • Foot pedal
  • Cord
  • Bobbin Case
  • Basic zig-zag presser foot (this will be your standard #1 or A foot)
  • Buttonhole foot (if you would like your buttonhole tested)
  • Any cams that allow you to change stitches (common in some older machines)
